Statesmen and philanthropist, Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu has advised Nigerians across the six geo-political zones to see the reality in the threat posed by the ravaging COVID-19 pandemic.
Chief Iwuanyanwu who spoke on behalf Iwuanyanwu National Ambulance at his Glass House Corporate headquarters expressed dissatisfaction at the manner some people dismiss the pandemic as non existent, adding that the second wave of COVID-19 according to expert reports, is even more deadly.
The business mogul and former presidential aspirant during the shortlived, aborted 3rd Republic in Nigeria said scientists have discovered that the original Coronavirus has undergone mutation but that rather than the new strain or variant becoming weaker as it is under normal scientific situation, the mutated version has assumed a very deadly dimension.
According Chief Iwuanyanwu who is also the chairman of Iwuanyanwu Nationale Ambulance, “it is the opinion of Iwuanyanwu Nationale Ambulance that no vaccine produced abroad should be administered to any Nigerian scientists.
We however, strongly recommend strict adherence to the…safety measures prescribed by NCDC and the World Heath Organization, WHO.
He advised Nigerians to wear masks, maintain distance of atleast one meter form the person, avoid crowded places with poor ventilation, regularly wash hands with soap, running water and sanitizers, among others.
He further hinted that Iwuanyanwu Nationle Ambulance has plans to set up centres in some universities in the South East, South-South and the other zones of Nigeria for further studies on tackling the pandemic, noting that it would partner Nigerian scientists in the diaspora in that regard.
Chief Iwuanyanwu who made a case against any plans for another lockdown urged the Federal, State and Local governments to take agriculture serious to combat rising food costs while also harping on the urgent need for citizens to embark on farming on a massive scale and adopt both local remedies for the prevention of infections such as daily use of vitamin, vitamin D, and Zinc, drinking a cup of hot lemon mixed with ginger and lime before going to bed everyday among others.
He also commended President Muhammadu Buhari and the media for adequate coverage of the pandemic.
